Gentleman Jack

This isn't something I talk about often, but I just finished what I think of as a very satisfying hour hosting Audioasis on the KEXP. From 8-9, I had Jack Endino (legendary Seattle rock producer) as a guest, and he was a great interview. If you're even remotely interested in digging it, it'll be in the streaming archive here for two weeks.

The date and time info is Saturday, November 12, 8pm.

It's seriously worth it just to hear Jack's voice. The man is a prince. A sonorous prince.

Wow that's really cool. He is indeed a legend. I would like to ask him a few questions myself. But alas, I'm in cubicle world myself and I can't really blast your interview out over the call center, for fear of losing my precious job and/or credibility, both of which are in serious jeopardy at this point, so WHAT THE HECK

What kind of questions did you ask him? If it were me, I think I would start with "Hey, you want to record sometime?"

That's what I said when I met Stone Gossard-- I said, "hey just give me a chance, you remember 'dollar short' and all that? And he's like 'yeah' and I'm like... that's ME and he's like, 'well, I can't help you, you need to find your own band.'

Ouch! Diss! What ever happened to millionaire rockstars remembering their roots? Taking a chance on rock n roll?

Anyways back to the MEDICARE PART D callers before I get FIIIIRRRREEEEEDDDD!!!

Just wanted to say 'thank you' for putting your new album on the Internet. I was a fan of HD after the first album, but if I hadn't heard from my friend that you guys put your album online for FREE, I probably wouldn't have heard you guys again. GREAT ADVERTISING, and I'm *really* pleased you've done this, because as I listen to the album I like each song better than the next. Terrific. Your band seems to get better and better. Kudos!

okay, sean*, here's the deal: harvey danger needs to find its way to missouri--preferably Columbia. now, i know a guy who owns a place called the "blue fugue." maybe we can work something out. (or i suppose i could apply to WA grad school, but that may seem stalkerish.)

*i feel weird addressing you by your first name. my impulse is to write "Dear Mr. Nelson" or maybe even "God." but that would be weird.
